Thermosets & Composites
Closed Mold
Closed mold curing of resins enables manufacturers to make better parts faster and more consistently, with less waste. Arkema offers a wide range of Luperox® MEKP and AAP peroxides with varying reactivity to suit the operating temperature and the cycle time of the manufacturing process.
Open Mold
Open mold curing of resins help produce bigger parts faster and in an efficient manner. They are used in production of bathtubs, boats and other composite products. Arkema offers a wide range of Luperox® MEKP and AAP peroxides with varying reactivity to suit the operating temperature and the cycle time of the manufacturing process.
Gelcoats
They are used to provide a high-quality finish on the visible surface of a fiber-reinforced composite. Luperox® MEKP grades are formulated to assist efficient curing of these resins.
Continuous Laminating
It's a process used to make flat and corrugated sheets at ambient or elevated temperature with high throughput. Arkema provides MIBK and other AAP based blends that are used in such applications.
SMC / BMC
Sheet molding compound (SMC) and Bulk molding compound (BMC) are ready to mold fiber reinforced resin material that are compression molded at elevated temperatures to achieve the final product. Luperox® organic peroxides with different reactivity levels are available worldwide for high-temperature pultrusion and sheet or molding compound curing applications.
Engineered Stone + Solid Surface
Arkema offers a complete product range, featuring Luperox® MEKP, AAP and TBPB blends for engineered stone. Engineered stone is mainly used for bathroom and kitchen countertops, tile for flooring and covering, tabletops, etc. Luperox® organic peroxides includes a range of formulations for specialty markets including polyester or acrylic solid surfaces.
Filament winding
Glass fiber reinforced (GRP) pipes could be produced both by continuous as well as discontinuous filament winding process and is one of the major market. Arkema provides standard MEKP grades for optimum cure, as well as special grades that give reduced peak exotherm for manufacturing thicker laminates.
Pultrusion
In pultrusion, profiles like shapes are made through a continuous process where glass roving is pulled through a heated die. Majorly the products include tubing and sheets and typically applied in the construction market. Luperox® organic peroxides with different reactivity levels are available worldwide for high-temperature pultrusion and sheet or molding compound curing applications.
Chemical Anchoring
Arkema offers benzoyl peroxide pastes and solvent formulations designed specifically for mine bolt and chemical anchoring applications.
Road marking
Luperox® benzoyl peroxide powder and solvent based formulations can be used for curing acrylic resins used in road marking applications.
Benzoyl Peroxide curing
Arkema is a leading producer of benzoyl peroxide paste, powder & suspensions used for curing polyester and acrylic resins. Some of the main applications include chemical anchoring, putties for car repairing, 2K adhesives, road marking, and many more.
