Product overview
Luperox® 231M50 polymer initiator is1,1-Di(tert-butylperoxy)-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane 50% inaliphatic diluent, a cyclic peroxyketal initiator for the polymerization of styrenics. Luperox® 231M50 converts styrene monomer into high molecular weight polymers faster than using a thermal process alone. This productivity increase is seen in the conversion rate of styrene into polystyrene when Luperox® 231M50 is added during polymerization from 100°C to 130°C. For high-impact polystyrene synthesis, the di-radical generated by Luperox® 231M50 can also improve the polystyrene to rubber grafting ratio, resulting in higher impact performance products.
